Day by Day Itinerary
Tues., Oct. 15 – CHICAGO / DUBLIN (I)
Today we depart Chicago’s O'Hare International Airport on the Aer Lingus non-stop flight to Dublin, Ireland.
Wed., Oct. 16 – DUBLIN / KINSALE (D)
After landing at Dublin Airport your Driver/Guide will welcome you to Ireland. Leaving the airport we’ll stop at Newbridge Silverware where we’ll have time for lunch and shopping. Newbridge Silverware is synonymous with designing and producing beautiful Irish jewelry, homeware and giftware products. We’ll stop for a photo opportunity of the Rock of Cashel as we make our way south through Ireland’s Golden Vale to the Rebel County of Cork. Our overnight destination is the historic port and fishing town of Kinsale, and we’ll have dinner at our hotel, The Trident. Pub of the Day...The Wharf Tavern, where we’ll enjoy music from joHn and Chris.
Thur., Oct. 17 – KINSALE (B)
This morning we’ll get to know Kinsale on a relaxed but highly focused food stroll with an engaging and experienced guide. We’ll go to places that are off the usual food route where tastings are generous and the people lively. Cork people are enormously proud of their food and quite rightly! The afternoon and evening are at leisure to explore Ireland’s Foodie Capital and its many wonderful pubs and restaurants. Pub of the Day...The Bulman.
Fri., Oct. 18 – KINSALE / KILLARNEY (B,D)
After breakfast our journey today takes us into Cork City where after a brief introductory tour we’ll enjoy some free time to explore on our own - be sure to visit the famous English Market in the center of the city, and its many quaint laneways and pubs. Afterwards we’ll travel to Blarney for a visit to fabled Blarney Castle. Here you’ll have an opportunity to climb the steps of the fortress and kiss the world famous Blarney Stone. Just a stone’s throw away we’ll also visit the Blarney Woolen Mills, the largest Irish crafts store in the country. Shay will be in Christies pondering a pint. Leaving County Cork, we’ll enter the Kingdom of Kerry on our path to Killarney. We’ll enjoy dinner at The Great Southern Hotel, our home for the next couple of nights. After dinner it’s time to immerse ourselves in traditional Irish music in any of Killarney’s dozens of live music venues. Pub of the Day...John M. Reidy.
Sat., Oct. 19 – KILLARNEY (B)
The Ring of Kerry is considered one of the finest coastal tours in all of Europe and is full of captivating mountain and coastal scenery. Dramatic seascapes, slate-roofed fishing villages and plenty of black-faced sheep appear around every bend on Kerry’s Wild Atlantic Way. We’ll pass through the villages of Killorglin, Rossbeigh and Waterville. This afternoon we’ll continue along the coast before turning inland to end our day with stops at scenic Molls Gap and Ladies View, the best place to enjoy a panorama of Killarney’s Lakes. Returning to Killarney, the remainder of the day is free to explore, or perhaps enjoy a jaunting car tour. Tonight is time to once again enjoy traditional Irish “bia, ól, ceól agus craic” with the joHn and Chris. Pub of the Day...Tatler Jack.
Sun., Oct. 20 – KILLARNEY / BUNRATTY (B,D)
We depart Killarney this morning and stop in Listowel for a coffee at the famous John B. Keane’s Pub. Then we’ll cross into County Limerick and stop in the city of Limerick itself to visit King John’s Castle. King John was the brother of Richard the Lionheart, associated with legends such as Robin Hood and the Knights’ of the Round Table. Join in the living interpretation and re-enactment with costumed guides who reveal the secrets and scandals of castle life. Afterward we’ll visit the Frank McCourt Museum, showcasing a classroom of the 1930’s and the McCourt home, as described in “Angela’s Ashes.” Then we’re on to “Banner County” of Clare where we will enjoy the Bunratty Castle Medieval Banquet and have a “jar” or two in our Pub of the Day...Durty Nelly’s.
Mon., Oct. 21 – BUNRATTY / GALWAY (B,D)
An amazing day is in store as we travel to the coast to view the majestic Cliffs of Moher, a rocky wall that rises 700 feet above the foaming Atlantic Ocean. Afterwards we’ll stop at Gus O’Connor’s Pub in Doolin for the best fish and chips in the world. For dessert we travel through the Burren, a vast plateau of limestone, to the boutique bean to bar chocolate factory, Hazel Mountain Chocolate. Then we’ll continue ‘round Galway Bay to the city of Galway. On arrival we’ll enjoy a panoramic introduction to the city’s main sights including the large modern Cathedral of St. Nicholas, set on an island in the Corrib River; Eyre Square; the Old Quays; Spanish Arch; and the Claddagh. Our hotel is the Salthill, and we’ll enjoy dinner in the city, and music at our Pub of the Day...The Quays.
Tues., Oct. 22 – GALWAY (B)
Today we explore the rugged yet serene Connemara region. This rocky land of broad-backed mountains and pearl-like lakes is the largest Irish-speaking section of the country and the old traditional ways of life are as much a part of this regions attraction as is the scenery. We’ll make our way to Killary Harbour to embark on a cruise of Killary Fjord. We’ll hear commentary along the way, and have the opportunity to eat lunch or sip an Irish Coffee in the warm and spacious viewing lounge. Or simply sit on deck and enjoy the breathtaking Connemara scenery. After our cruise, we stop at Gaynors Bar in Leenane, where much of the movie “The Field” was filmed. Returning to Galway, the rest of the day is free to enjoy the music, charm and banter of the local characters as you shop and explore the city. Pub of the Day...Tigh Neachtain.
Wed., Oct. 23 – GALWAY / DUBLIN (B)
After breakfast today, we journey across the stunning Irish countryside as we make our way to Athlone where we’ll visit Athlone Castle on the River Shannon. During our visit we’ll discover tales of bitter battles fought, territories won and lost and hear stories of bravery. Then we’ll walk over to Sean’s Bar, the oldest pub in Ireland. Situated in the Heart of Ireland, Sean's Bar plays host to visitors from all around the world, and we’ll join the uncountable number of visitors who have been stopping here for a drink, a chat and maybe a bit of music for more than a thousand years. Then it’s the Rocky Road to Dublin where
on arrival we’ll enjoy a panoramic introduction to this famous city on the Liffey River before heading to our hotel, Clayton Ballsbridge. Pub of the Day...The Horse Show House.
Thur., Oct. 24 – DUBLIN (B,D)
The entire day is free in Dublin to explore this wonderfully cosmopolitan city that offers trendy bars, elegant restaurants, and stylish shops. Whether your interest is sport, history, art or literature; whether you love shopping, or sipping a pint of Guinness, Dublin is packed with loads of interesting things to do. A Hop-on/Hop-off bus pass will allow you to visit any of Dublin’s attractions, including Trinity College, home to the famous Book of Kells, or the Guinness Storehouse and Gravity Bar. We’ll finish our time in Ireland with a great treat this evening at our farewell dinner and show featuring traditional Irish music, dance and entertainment at The Pub of the Day...The Merry Ploughboy. We plan on joining in the entertainment!
Fri., Oct 25 – DUBLIN / CHICAGO (B,I)
All too soon, our Autumn in Ireland has come to the end. We transfer to Dublin Airport in plenty of time to check in for our non-stop American Airlines flight to Chicago.

ARRANGEMENTS: The tour price is based on a minimum participation of 30 persons and includes planning, and operational charges and is quoted on the current rate of exchange, tariff rates and airfares in effect as of December 1, 2018. In the event of a marked increase in foreign currency or in tariff rates, the cost is subject to revision.
TOUR PRICING: This is a package tour in which group airfares and land tour costs have been combined in the most advantageous way. Should you wish to deviate from the package tour by changing your departure and/or return dates of travel, this will eliminate the advantages of the package tour price. There will be a service charge of $100 per person for altering the airline itinerary, plus any additional charges assessed by the airlines.
TRAVEL PROTECTION: You have been given the option of purchasing Travel Protection at the time you sign-up for the tour. Plans help protect you and your travel investment and help provide coverage for unexpected circumstances. The premium for the plan is non-refundable after the 14 day free look period and rates are based on trip cost. Group plans require a minimum participation of 10 travelers. CANCELLATION: If after making your initial deposit you find it necessary to cancel from the tour for any reason, there will be a charge of $100 per person up to 90 days prior to departure. For cancellation between 89 and 60 days prior to departure, there will be a cancellation charge of $300 per person. For cancellation within 59 days of departure, in addition to the $300 per person charge, there may be additional cancellation charges from the airline, hotel(s) or ground service companies up to the full value of your tour cost. PASSPORTS AND VISAS: Your tour requires a valid passport. If you do not already have your passport, or it will expire before the tour return date, we suggest you apply for it immediately. No visas are required for your tour. However, if you are a citizen of a country other than the United States, additional travel documentation may be required.
AIRLINE TICKETING/SEATING: For ticketing InterTrav requires a copy of the photo page of your passport. If a ticket requires a name change because of incorrect information supplied to our office, the traveler is responsible for any applicable charges. Group air reservations are handled differently than individual reservations, and each airline has their own guidelines and restrictions on seat assignments and upgrades. If you wish to have your seat pre-assigned, or would like to upgrade, you must e-mail your request to firstname.lastname@example.org. The cost for pre-assigned and/or upgraded seats varies, as does the time frame we are able to make the request with the airline. Every effort is made to ensure requests are honored, however the responsibility is with the airline and beyond the control of InterTrav Corporation.
SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING PRICING: The tour price as quoted is based on tariffs in effect for estimated 2018 prices as of December 1, 2018. Tour prices do increase every year, and it is therefore possible that increases could occur after the printing of this brochure in advance of your tour’s departure. InterTrav Corporation will do everything possible to avoid an increase in the tour cost. However, should increases occur in airfares, hotel prices, and/or coach transportation costs, they will be added to the tour cost and passengers will be notified accordingly. Should an increase in price occur, notifications will be sent to tour members in writing no later than 30 days prior to departure.
